Animal rescues are always a beautiful thing to witness. We recently reported on a pretty special dolphin rescue and cow rescue after both animals found themselves stuck in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida’s chaos. There was also that massive moose bull that got stuck in a mud pit up in Canada that faced certain doom if it weren’t for two fast-acting locals. This newest farm animal rescue, though, takes the cake in terms of the wild and unexpected.
In a scene mirroring “Scarface,” one little chicken narrowly evaded turning into a hawk’s snack with a “say hello to my little friend” moment. You won’t believe the footage when you see it. Joining the chicken in its fight for life, a rooster and goat made themselves worthy of an MVP farm animal title. We’ve got all the details for you right here, pals.
Farm Animal Vigilantes
Sure, Batman is one of the most notorious vigilante superheroes out there. Still, we’re betting these farm animals could give him a run for his money. Even their owner, Netherlands farmer Jaap Beets found himself shocked by what he witnessed. The 59-year-old went about his business as per usual on September 5th. That is until he heard something unusual coming from the livestock area outside. By the time he made his way over there, the commotion had already stopped. However, looking back, his CCTV camera captured the dramatic show-down in its entirety.
Basically, the scene is as follows. A lonely chicken went about his chicken business, pecking at the ground for a quick snack. The chicken remained unaware that they were being stalked and sized up by a nasty predator. Within moments, a hawk did what it does best and tail-dove directly towards the chicken. The conflict quickly ensued and the chicken found themselves in a fight for their life. Wings started flapping this way and that way, and from the video, the chicken clearly experienced a lot of distress.
The next moment proved to be really special. A rooster and goat charged the scene to come to the rescue of their farm friend. Even these two had some trouble fending off the predatory bird, but in the end, teamwork prevailed.
Farmer Beets reportedly told SWNS the following:
“I was so proud of the rooster and the goat jumping in to defend our chicken. I was also very relieved that the chicken survived…In the seven years I have lived here, it’s the third attack on our chickens. This was the second from a goshawk and the other was a buzzard.”
The New York Post shared the dramatic rescue scene, which comes from the farmers’ own CCTV footage. You can catch all the action right here:
