Uncut With Jay Cutler Special BBQ Episode: Eric Trump, Meat Church and Rut Daniels Join the Show at Jay’s House

Fans of Uncut with Jay Cutler podcast have something special in store for them this week on the newest episode. This week’s show was filmed at host Jay Cutler’s home in Franklin, Tennessee where he planned a BBQ for his guests. We’ve got quite the foursome this week with Eric Trump and YouTube star Rut Daniels joining former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler at his house. We’ve also got Meat Church’s Matt Pittman rounding out the crew as he also cooks up some Texas brisket for the guys.

To start off the special episode, Eric and Matt join Jay on his back porch as they all sit around and chat from their rocking chairs. Later, Eric’s favorite internet comedian and self-proclaimed “greatest bowhunter to walk the Earth” joins the show when Rut Daniels brings his patented humor to the episode. The Catchin’ Deers hunting apparel co-owner jokes about bowhunting, hunting gear, and barbecue. The pair also share some hilarious hunting tips before Pittman details how to smoke a brisket to perfection.

Meat Church’s CEO and owner Matt Pittman is a decorated Pitmaster who opens up about his BBQ business during the podcast. The Texan shares the story of convincing his wife to let him quit his day job to purse his BBQ dreams. However, there’s a lot more in this week’s show.

In fact, you can’t have former President Donald Trump’s son on the podcast without asking a few questions about his dad. Host Jay Cutler and Eric Trump chat about how the country seems to finally be getting back to “normal.” Eric dodges the questions about his father running for president once again, but also ironically jokes that everyone should stay out of politics. Instead, he prefers to focus on his family’s various business ventures. We’ve got that and much more on this week’s special BBQ edition of Uncut with Jay Cutler.

‘Uncut with Jay Cutler’ Host and Guests Get a Crash Course in BBQ

If you’re having a BBQ at your home, you’d be hard pressed to find a better person to cook for you than Meat Church’s Matt Pittman. The Pitmaster moved to Texas with his family when he was 13 years old. Pittman learned to cook from both of his grandmothers who lived in Alabama and Tennessee. He’s a big outdoors guy as well who always preferred to cook outside and found a passion in doing exactly that.

Pittman’s earliest attempts at cooking meats outside began at Dallas Cowboys games while tailgating. At an early age, he jumped in as the resident grill master at tailgates cooking for himself and his fellow Cowboys fans. That’s where he first learned the ins and outs of Texas BBQ, which differs from the rest of the country. While most BBQ is pork and has a sweet sauce on it, Texas BBQ has no sauce and is always beef. As Pittman shares with the Uncut with Jay Cutler crew, he didn’t bring any sauce for the meats he was preparing. He only used a salt and pepper base, so it’s all about the beef.

Previous to his cooking career, Pittman utilized his finance degree and worked in information technology (IT) for 20 years. He had a successful career and two kids in college when he spoke to his wife about wanting to change his career path. She wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about the idea.

“I always tell people, I didn’t figure this out in my 20s. When I quit my job, we had two kids in college, and two little ones. And my wife wasn’t real keen on me quitting [my established IT career] to say the least,” Pittman joked. “If we knew then what we know now, it’s good. But convincing her to let me quit is literally the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.”

Things have worked out since then obviously. Pittman created Meat Church in 2014 and hasn’t looked back since.

Rut Daniels and Eric Trump Hilariously Try to Convince Each Other of the Better Hunting Bow

Internet star Rut Daniels took a little extra time getting to host Jay Cutler’s home that afternoon. But once he found the place and joined the crew things got silly and quick. The amusing Canadian, real name Bud Fisher, is the brother of Mike Fisher. That name might ring a bell since he’s a former NHL star and husband to country music icon Carrie Underwood. The two Fisher brothers are both avid hunters and created the hunting apparel brand Catchin’ Deers together.

While talking about hunting, the group spoke about their favorite bows to use. They talked about what animals they like to hunt, and even attempted to convince each other to use their respective favorite bows.

“What do you shoot?” Rut Daniels asked Eric Trump.

“I shoot PSE and Mathews. I shoot a PSE and it’s been hammerin’. Absolutely hammerin’. A new carbon levitate – that thing’s been awesome,” Eric Trump answered.

“I thought we were going to be friends there for a second. Apparently not unless I can get you in a Hoyt,” Daniels amusingly joked. “Okay, PSE, as long as you’re shootin’ something, I’m happy, you know?”

“That’s right. We’ll get you over to the dark side. That carbon’s awesome,” Trump responded in an attempt to get Daniels to use a PSE.

“Oh, you think so?” Daniels said. “I shoot the aluminum now, I shot the carbon for three years. Nice and light the aluminum. I don’t know, I’m back on the aluminum.”

Needless to say, the two Uncut with Jay Cutler guests agreed to disagree on the matter. Trump is set with his PSE carbon bow, and Daniels has his mind made up about his Hoyt aluminum bow. Yet they found common ground when agreeing that as long as you’re outdoors bowhunting, you can’t go wrong with either.

Eric Trump Jokes That Everyone Should Stay Out of Politics, Sidesteps Confirming His Dad Running for President

Of course, you can’t have the son of a former United States president on the podcast without at least breaching the subject of politics. All guests agreed they should probably all stay out of politics. That’s when Eric Trump hilariously joked that he should have too. Rut Daniels breached the subject when saying he steers clear of politics, and Trump agreed that’s smart.

“Stay out of [politics], it’s better if you stay out of it,” Trump responded to Daniels.

“I was a political science major for five minutes,” Matt Pittman shared. “Then I went a different direction.”

“You’re lucky. I was not a political science major and I got dragged into this stuff,” Trump said as the guys all shared a laugh. “It’s been a whirlwind. It’s been a lot of fun, but it’s, uh… stay out of that game.”

Host Jay Cutler chimed in and said that Eric and his family are soon going to get back into the political game. Donald Trump’s son confirmed that they likely will in some capacity. However, he would not confirm that his father had plans to run for president once again.

“In some way, shape, or form,” Eric Trump said to Jay Cutler.

“Confirmed? Confirmed? Heard it hear first?” Rut Daniels joked.

“Not confirmed yet,” Trump answered. “Listen, the big guy will confirm it when he’s ready. I want to stay out of all politics. Meaning I like running companies. We do hotels really, really well. We do golf courses, and commercial buildings and residential buildings.”

Eric Trump, Matt Pittman, and Rut Daniels talk about much more during this week’s special BBQ episode of the podcast.
