If Keanu Reeves ever gets tired of the assassination game, Aaron Rodgers wants fans to know he’s up for it. The Packers quarterback dressed as John Wick for Halloween. But Bears fans already know he can be a ruthless killer with deadly accuracy and anger issues.
Fans and fellow players gave Rodgers props for the costume.
“This is the costume! I love it!” one fan replied to the post. “Damn that’s a solid costume,” wrote another.
Green Bay tight end Tom Crabtree included a quote from the original John Wick to honor his quarterback. “I once saw him kill three men in a bar…with a pencil. With a f*cking pencil!” Rodgers also impressed Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz with his “commitment.”
This costume took serious commitment from No. 12. In September, reporters asked Aaron Rodgers about his new, longer locks. Rodgers said he was growing out his hair for a Halloween costume. He planned to dress as “somebody who is a hero of mine who has long-ish hair,” Sports Illustrated recalled. Though he didn’t reveal who it was until Saturday.
Fans wanted to know if he’d cut his hair now that he’s done with the costume.
“So that’s why he let his homeless hair grow out huh, so November 1st you get a haircut and bath?” someone joked. “Cutting the hair tomorrow now that you’ve done your Halloween costume?” several others asked.
Rodgers hasn’t said if he plans to keep the mane or hack it off.
‘John Wick’ Prequel Series, Spin-off, Sequels In the Works
It’s unlikely that we’ll ever see Aaron Rodgers step into the shoes of the Baba Yaga. But maybe he can get a cameo in one of the many new John Wick projects in production right now.
Keanu Reeves recently finished filming John Wick: Chapter 4. He celebrated that achievement by giving his stunt team $10,000 Rolex watches. The movie hits theaters on May 27 and will include several new faces to the franchise. Production on a fifth installment in the series is also in the works.
Ana de Armas, who recently starred in the latest Bond film No Time To Die, is joining the John Wick universe as a female assassin. She’s getting a spin-off called Ballerina, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“What we’re exploring in The Continental is the young Winston and how it came to be that he and his team of confederates found their way into this hotel which we have met for the first time in the movie franchise 40 years later,” Lionsgate TV chief Kevin Beggs said.
