As the odds-on favorite to win this year’s NFL Most Valuable Player award, Aaron Rodgers says he has a speech ready to go.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback and his teammates fell short of reaching this year’s Super Bowl. They were beaten by Tom Brady and Tampa Bay Bucs in the NFC Championship Game by a final score of 31-26. Despite the loss, Rodgers had another excellent outing as he threw for more than 300 yards and three touchdown passes. He threw a costly interception but completed 68 percent of his passes and finished with a 101.6 passer rating.
The season ends prematurely for Rodgers and the Packers, as many thought they were Super Bowl bound. Rodgers was a big reason for the successful season and now appears to be the front runner for MVP award. The star quarterback even says he has already come up with a few words to say should he win the award. If he does indeed win the award, it will be his third time to receive the prestigious honor.
“A-Rod is ready for his third MVP,” the social post states.
In a recent interview, Rodgers was asked if he has his MVP speech already written, to which he simply replies “I do.”
It appears that many fans agree that he is the favorite to win the award. The Instagram post drew more than 50,000 “likes” in a short amount of time.
Aaron Rodgers Completes Phenomenal Season With Packers
While some say Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen are in contention, most agree that Rodgers’ fantastic season makes him the most likely winner for the award.
The 37-years-old quarterback was simply outstanding during the 2020 NFL regular season. While completing more than 70 percent of his passes, he threw for 4,299 yards. He tossed 48 touchdowns to just five interceptions — one of the top touchdowns to interceptions ratio in league history. He ends the season with a quarterback rating of 121.5, one of the league’s highest marks.
The Pro Bowl quarterback will soon find out if those numbers are good enough to earn his third MVP award.
