Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield might just be the most quotable player currently in the NFL, and once again he showed why on Sunday.

NFL fans seem to have mixed reviews on Mayfield as a player, even though the Browns are 8-3 this season. But, no one can deny that his interviews are memorable almost every week.

Following Sunday’s 27-25 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Mayfield spoke to reporters. During the interview, he touched on some of his missed passes to receivers. The quarterback said he can’t stand missing any of his throws on the field. However, he somehow found a way to insert a Ron Swanson quote when sharing his frustrations with reporters.

“Well, I mean, I really feel like we left a lot of points on the board. I truly do. There was a ton of missed opportunities from just my perspective, a lot of missed throws. There’s only two things I hate more than missing throws, and that’s lying and skim milk. And skim milk’s just water lying about being milk. So…gotta make those throws.”

Surely that’s the first time in NFL history a player has referenced skim milk in an interview. Obviously, Mayfield is a fan of NBC’s sitcom Parks and Recreation. Swanson is a fan-favorite character played by actor Nick Offerman. In fact, Swanson himself is well-known for his ridiculous quotes, and Mayfield clearly borrowed this gem from the hilarious character.

Mayfield’s quote is only slightly different than Swanson’s original line in the show. Makes you wonder if Mayfield has been practicing these quotes at home to break them out for game-day interviews. Here’s the original quote from Swanson himself.

Not Everyone Likes Mayfield on the Field, Including Terry Bradshaw

In contrast to his amusing interviews that most can enjoy, Mayfield’s on-field play has divided fans and analysts alike. Earlier this month, legendary Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and co-host of FOX NFL Sunday Terry Bradshaw shared some harsh criticisms of Mayfield.

During Bradshaw’s early November appearance on “The Herd” with Colin Cowherd, the Hall of Famer did not mince words when speaking about the former Oklahoma Sooner.

“I don’t like Baker Mayfield. I never did like Baker Mayfield,” Bradshaw said sternly.

Bradshaw’s main critique of the Browns quarterback revolves around Mayfield’s character and the way he acts on the field. However, Bradshaw admits that he’s never met Mayfield in person.

“I don’t like people like that. I’m a character guy,” the 4-time Super Bowl winner said of Mayfield. “I’ve never met the man. He may be the most wonderful human being in the world. But, his body language, and the way he acts, it’s just a turn off for me. That’s just me.”
