Brand new parents Patrick Mahomes and his bride-to-be Brittany Matthews are enjoying every minute with their bundle of joy.
The couple brought their first child, Sterling Skye Mahomes, into the world a week ago today (Saturday). The baby girl came in at six pounds and 11 ounces and is said to be doing well, as is her mother. The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback is currently enjoying his first offseason as a proud father before he returns to prepare for the 2021 NFL season.
One of the joys for first time parents is stocking up on baby necessities like clothing and other items. With her husband the highest paid player in the NFL, the future Mrs. Mahomes is loading up on baby girl necessities. On Saturday, she took to social media to poke a little fun at the experience as she scours the earth for adorable baby clothing.
“Can’t. Stop. Ordering. Baby Clothes and pajamas,” Brittany says in the Twitter post. She adds two laughing emojis to the end of the tweet to show that she is also laughing at her self. Her Saturday morning tweet took in more than 4,000 “likes” shortly after its posting.
Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews Holding Off on Baby Pics
Despite being super proud of their entrance into parenthood, Patrick and Brittany have decided to wait on sharing photos of baby Sterling. At this moment, they are focused on soaking up every second with their baby girl.
In an Instagram story post earlier this week, Matthews explains the reasoning behind the photo decision. The couple knows that with a famous father, Sterling will receive plenty of attention later in life.
“Today was Sterlings actual due date, sure glad she came a few days early,” she says. “We will share photos of her when we feel the time is right. I know the Internet will instantly take the photos of her and share everywhere so just preparing myself for my newborn baby girl to be shared to the world. Right now we are just soaking in every minute with her.”
Last offseason, Patrick Mahomes became the richest player in the NFL. His contract is worth up to over $500 million and includes a large sum of guaranteed money.
