What an absolutely crushing loss. Thankfully for Patrick Mahomes, he has the unwavering support of Brittany Matthews and their pregnancy to get him through it.
“Not how we wanted it to end, but 15 played his heart out and I’m always and forever proud of him in everything he does!” says Matthews of her fiance and longtime partner Patrick Mahomes. After a sweep of a game/loss to Brady & the Bucs, she’s heaping praise onto the talented young quarterback. She’s also awaiting their first child.
“Now let’s have a baby,” she concludes with a laughing emoji. That’s right – if you haven’t heard the news, Patrick Mahomes & Brittany Matthews are expecting. The young couple couldn’t be more excited, either.
“We are extremely ready, uh, we’re excited,” Patrick Mahomes said recently to FOX Sports. We have all the things planned out and every single gadget and tool that you can have to be great parents. But, at the same time, I’m trying to tell her to hold off until after the game. But, whenever it happens it happens. If we can wait till maybe a few weeks after the game, that would probably be ideal.”
While they may not have gotten their wish of a win, Mahomes at least will not miss the birth of his little one.

Moreover, these two long-time lovebirds, both 24, have an incredible history. They met while at Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas. They even went to prom together, according to Mahomes’ Instagram. Both were athletes at Whitehouse, and bonded over their love of sports – and each other.
When graduation rolled around, Brittany Matthews made the University of Texas at Tyler’s college soccer team. Mahomes, of course, went on to play football for Texas Tech. Attending different universities never put a damper on their relationship, however.
“My valentine from the beginning to now!?,” Mahomes captions a 2018 before-and-after post with his then-GF, also on Instagram. The two are now engaged as of last year – and we wish them many happy years to come.
