Sports Illustrated cover girl Camille Kostek took to social media early on Friday afternoon to give a shout-out to all of the “natural women” out there.

There is no question that Kostek has made a name for herself in the modeling industry. The longtime girlfriend of Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski, Kostek is a professional dancer, fitness model, game show host, and former New England Patriots cheerleader. The blonde bombshell is nearing in on one million Instagram followers, which she should hit by the end of the year.

But it hasn’t always come this easy for Camille Kostek. In fact, before she was named the cover girl for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, she struggled to be accepted as a model because of her natural body. So, on Friday, she gave a shout-out to all of her fellow “natural women,” telling them to “own it.” She also posted side-by-side photos of herself in a white string bikini and a green bucket hat.

“This one goes out to my natural women own that sh-t”,” Kostek wrote alongside the photo. “Wearing ‘the classic string bikini’ in white from my Camille Kostek Collection with @swimsuitsforall . This also comes in cotton candy pink and pacific blue”

Camille Kostek Wasn’t Always Accepted in the Modeling Industry

It’s hard to believe, but there was once a time not too long ago where Camille Kostek wasn’t as confident about her curves. The model told Ocean Drive in 2019 that modeling agencies wanted her to change her body to better fit the standard.

“When I finished school in 2015, I started going to open calls in New York. But I was getting the same response every time,” Kostek admitted. “‘Get your measurements down.’ ‘Take X inches off your thighs and hips.'”

She said that she also had certain companies asking her to gain weight as well.

“An agency in LA asked me how I would feel about gaining weight because the plus-size initiative was flourishing. It felt like defeat. But I am a firm believer in the law of attraction and manifesting.”

However, Kostek marched on without joining one of the big-time agencies. And in the end, that decision most definitely paid off. Nowadays, Kostek is determined to be a role model for other young women who might be struggling to accept their bodies.

“I feel like it’s my duty to share my experience with self-acceptance,” Kostek said. “I don’t want to bore people and talk about myself, but the biggest struggle for me was my body. I’m an advocate for self-acceptance and I want to share what I’ve found and what might help others. I started with women’s panels and extended to universities. I want to reach out to everyone. Men, Women, the LGBTQ community.”
