Charles Barkley Shares Too Much Information, Says He Sleeps ‘Comanche’

You never know what Charles Barkley is going to say. He could be critiquing the play of an NBA star, voicing his opinion about what’s going on in the news, or talking about going “Comanche.”

The NBA legend’s latest memorable moment came during the first episode of the second season of “The Steam Room” podcast. In the segment, “Chuck’s Answering Machine,” Barkley and co-host Ernie Johnson respond to a caller’s question.

“So what are your thoughts about a grown man wearing pajamas in public to go pick up a burrito?” the caller asks.

Johnson quickly responds with, “I’ve got to vote against that.”

Charles Barkley, however, has a question. “Are you driving through or getting out?” With more thought, he adds, “It’s never good to wear pajamas in public.”

The conversation leads Johnson to ask Barkley if he ever owned pajamas.

Charles Barkley Hilariously Mixes Up Words

“I had them when I was younger,” Barkley says. “But, I haven’t had them since I was a kid. But, now I sleep Comanche so I don’t have to worry about anything like that.”

This response, as do so many things Barkley says, drew laughter from his co-host.

“Comanche?” Johnson asks with a laugh. “Is that somewhere like commando?”

Barkley realizes his mistakes and says he meant “commando” as Johnson continues to laugh.

“I go commando,” Charles Barkley says. “I’m never wearing underwear again. I cut out the middle man.”

This prompts the still-laughing Johnson to ask about the state Barkley he is in while they are recording the podcast.

“Oh, yeah. Yeah. I’m Comanche,” Charles Barkley deadpans. “Ernie, no drawls ever for Chuck.”

“The Steam Room” gives fans of “Inside The NBA” another opportunity to hear Barkley and Johnson discuss basketball and more. The latest episode of the podcast features Masai Ujiri, president of the Toronto Raptors organization.
