MMA fighter Conor McGregor is getting ready for his third re-match with fellow fighter, Dustin Poirier.

In typical McGregor fashion, this means attempting to belittle and frighten his opponent using social media.

McGregor posted a photo of himself in the ring. He captioned it, “The fight is booked! July 10th you’re gonna see what the Mac is about. Adjust and absolutely … destroy!”

McGregor has continued to live up to his Instagram handle of “thenotoriousmma.”

Meanwhile, Dustin Poirier recently posted a photo with the caption, “Happy Easter from the Bayou! Don’t forget to hydrate today!” The photo is a sweet shot alongside his wife and daughter near the water.

He did also tweet yesterday (April 3) confirming the July 10 date with his fans. He wrote, “July 10th, 25 minutes locked in.”

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier

According to ESPN, the UFC is moving forward to book Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor III for July 10. So far, the two are equal in terms of wins. Poirier defeated McGregor with a second-round TKO in 2014. Then McGregor defeated Poirier in the first round during their rematch with a TKO at UFC 178.

The event will be a five-round fight at the 155-pound mark. Poirier has had a winning streak and defeating McGregor would be his third win in a row.

Meanwhile, McGregor is looking forward to possibly adding a win to his collection since his last was back in January 2020.

This will be one of the most popular and lucrative fights in UFC and MMA history as the two rivals battle it out. After this fight, it’s unlikely the two will go against each other again in the near future.

This fight will put to rest the infamous rivalry between the two fighters. In many ways, it will help to unofficially announce the best lightweight fighter in the world.

The trilogy fight is highly anticipated and will likely bring in millions of viewers in a few months.

Conor McGregor Popularity

McGregor has had a legendary career as it is, which is clear from the millions he’s pocketed so far. He is one of UFC’s biggest stars and his name has brought in a high amount of PPV purchases.

He is 3-1 with his championship fights. According to a tweet from Chisanga Malata from Sun Sport, Conor McGregor’s fights bring in massive viewers. His last three fights all had over 1.3 million PPV purchases.

As of now, his total PPV buys are estimated at 11,595,429. The MMA fighter also has almost 40 million followers on his Instagram account. His whiskey brand, Proper 12, also helps him continue adding to his notorious fame and fortune.

The McGregor and Poirier rematch had 1.6 million PPV buys worldwide and then 1.2 million viewers on ESPN+ as well. The UFC 257 fight is actually the second largest PPV in the promotion’s history. The McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov is at the top.
