Everything You Need To Know About Brittany Matthews, Patrick Mahomes’ Fiancée

by Madison Miller

Who’s the lucky lady who caught Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ heart? Here’s everything there is to know about Brittany Matthews.

High School Sweethearts

The pair started dating during their sophomore year in high school in Whitehouse, Texas. They are now both 25 and recently engaged.

Mahomes popped the question in September 2020. The quarterback asked the question the same day that he won Super Bowl LIV with the Chiefs. Clearly, it had to be one of the most remarkable days of his life.

Matthews posted on Instagram at the time, “On a day that was meant to celebrate you, you turned it into celebrating us. It’s always us, it’s always you and me. The words you looked into my eyes and said to me at this moment, will NEVER leave my mind! You made this day perfect, you took my entire breath away and I could not have imagined anything better. I love you, forever and always! Cheers to spending our lifetime together and an inseparable bond.”

Right now, according to Kansas City Business Journal, the couple will not be planning to leave Kansas City anytime soon. Mahomes and Matthews bought a $1.9 million mansion.

She’s Having a Baby Girl

After announcing their engagement online, the pair also came forward to announce they were having a baby.

Then, a month later Mahomes and Matthews had a Zoom call with their loved ones to reveal the baby’s sex. Their fur-children, Steel and Silver, walked across a white paper with their paws dipped in paint.

Matthews is obsessed with her two dogs, a pitbull and a cane Corso. She is a highly devoted dog mom training to be a mom to a human very soon. In fact, the two dogs even have a pretty massive, pro-Chiefs Instagram following.

After they left cute little pink pawprints it was confirmed the couple would be having a baby girl soon. Right now, the two of them are taking extreme precautions to keep the baby safe during COVID-19. Mahomes has been sleeping in a different room and really just trying to stay away as much as possible.

“It’s something I think about every day. You have to think about that with her being pregnant, kind of in that high-risk category. … I’m doing my part to keep away from her and social distance whenever stuff like this arises,” Mahomes said, according to US Magazine.

Mahomes has had plenty of scares. The team’s barber tested positive for COVID-19 right before the Super Bowl. He was waiting to give Demarcus Robinson and Daniel Kilgore haircuts, putting them both on the reserve list. There was also another scare in October.

Brittany Matthews’ Company

Matthews has her own pretty successful company. It’s called Brittany Lynne Fitness.

According to her website, “My programs are guided workouts that can be completed by anyone. They include options for working out at home or in the gym, allowing you to choose where you feel comfortable and how to best accomplish the goals you set for yourself. For me, the gym is my safe place. It’s the place where I can let go of everything around me and just focus on myself and making myself better.”

She majored in kinesiology in college and is also a Certified Personal Trainer. It is Matthews’ way of showcasing her longstanding love and knowledge of health and fitness.

In fact, Mahomes isn’t the only professional athlete in the family. She played soccer in college before moving on to play professionally in Iceland. However, she discovered her love for fitness was more about being in the gym and helping others than playing soccer.
