Happy Birthday LeBron James: The Basketball Star’s Most Memorable Moments

by Katie Maloney

LeBron James is celebrating his 36th birthday today. To celebrate the Capricorn’s day, we’ve got a video of his funniest moments.

We’re not sure what James could possibly want this year, since he celebrated in the best way an athlete can a few weeks ago when he received his Los Angeles Lakers championship ring. The moment marked James’ fourth all-time championship win and was an ideal way to kickstart his birthday month. In honor of both his accomplishments on the court and his bday, we’re sharing this video of the basketball star’s funniest moments.

LeBron James Is More Than Just A Basketball Star

Born in Akron, Ohio, James did not have the easiest childhood. His father left when he was young and his family struggled to stay afloat financially. While in high school, James’s basketball coach invited the James family to stay at his home so that James could focus on school and basketball. Just a few years later, James would become one of the NBA’s greatest players of all time. However, James hasn’t forgotten his hometown. In fact, he’s been one of the biggest advocates for the community’s development.

James founded the LeBron James Family Foundation in 2004 to offer support to the Akron community in a variety of ways including opening the I Promise School in 2018. The school offers free tuition, uniforms, bicycles and helmets, breakfast, lunch and snacks, and transportation within two miles of the school. Additionally, the school offers students’ parents GED opportunities and job placement services.

Most recently, James announced the foundation’s newest plan, House Three Thirty. The building will contain a financial health space, sports complex, dining, retail, and event space. House Three Thirty will be accessible to everyone in the Akron community. During a promotional video for the space, James said, “The work is never done. In fact, it’s just the beginning.” We can say the same for his dynamite basketball career.
