Herschel Walker Poses in Kyle Washington’s Souped-Up Porsche GT Race Car: ‘Glad He’s At The Wheel’

How does Herschel Walker look behind the wheel of a Whataburger Porsche 911?

The former Dallas Cowboy and Georgia Bulldog posted Sunday:

“Checking out my little brother’s car he’s driving for @Whataburger⁩ . Glad he’s at the wheel and not me!”

Kyle Washington competes for GMG Racing.

Who Knows, Maybe Herschel Walker Will Try Driving

And maybe racing Porsches is something Herschel Walker might try. This is the superstar running back who never committed exclusively to football.

Herschel Walker, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1982, was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999. He played professionally for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants. Right after Georgia, Walker also competed in the now defunct USFL when he played for the New Jersey Generals.

But while still in the NFL, Walker represented the United States at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France. That’s when he was a bobsledder. With his speed and power, Walker was supposed to help as a pusher with the four-man bobsled team. But two days before he was supposed to compete, the driver of the four-man team made a change and benched Walker. However, Walker competed on the two-man U.S. team. He and driver Brian Shimer finished seventh and out of the medals.

No worries. Herschel Walker dabbled in other sports, too. He competed in MMA, knocking out two opponents. Walker tried taekwondo — he’s a fifth degree black belt. He ran track. And Walker also did a performance with the Fort Worth Ballet.

Herschel Walker is now 59. Perhaps his athletic days are mostly behind him. But he may be flirting with other competitions, namely, politics.

Walker Could Be Running, As in Politics

Although Walker lives outside Dallas, there is all sorts of political buzz that he’ll return home to Georgia and run for U.S. Senate. The seat held by Rafael Warnock, a Democrat, is up in 2022.

Former President Donald Trump, who appointed Walker to the Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, is encouraging the former running back, and his long-time friend, to run for political office. Last week, Doug Collins, potentially a top Republican candidate and a Trump ally, announced he would not be running for the GOP nomination for Senate.

“He’s gonna be a formidable candidate if he chooses to run,” Jason Shepherd, a longtime GOP activist, told Yahoo News. “Herschel Walker is going to be difficult to attack. He has an extraordinary story to tell that’ll make him a very powerful candidate.”

“I can see him clearing the field if he jumps in,” Shepherd said.

For now, Herschel Walker is sticking to sports on a beautiful Texas spring day.
