Wrestling star Hulk Hogan reacted today on social media to the news that Jon Huber, ex-WWE and AEW star, had passed away.
Huber has died at the young age of just 41 years old. His wife Amanda said that his death was the result of a lung issue unrelated to COVID-19.
Hogan took to Twitter on Saturday night to express the devastation he’s feeling over Huber’s passing. He was among many other wrestling legends to pay his respects to the late Huber.
“Totally devastated over the loss of Jon “Luke/Brodie,” such a great talent and awesome human being! RIP my brother HH,” Hogan wrote on Twitter.
Jon Huber Mourned by Hulk Hogan and Others in the Industry
In addition to Hulk Hogan, John Cena was one of the big stars to post a tribute to Huber. He has yet to offer an official statement, but he shared a captionless photo of them wrestling each other on his Instagram account.
Further, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley also had a message for Huber.
“I just heard the news about the death of Jon Huber…an awful day for wrestling fans,” Foley said. “Just two years ago, my son Hughie dressed up as Luke Harper for Halloween. He was a great worker, and a doting father. A huge loss for everyone who loves wrestling.”
AEW boss Tony Khan – who signed Huber to the promotion following his WWE release – admitted that he, like Hulk Hogan, was ‘devastated’ by the news.
“I’m devastated by the loss of Jon Huber, known to fans as Mr. Brodie Lee, formerly Luke Harper. Jon was a great man,” Khan said. “His family came first, his loving wife Amanda & their sons Brodie + Nolan. He loved wrestling and was great at it, he loved you fans. Please keep him in your hearts.”
Bosses of the WWE, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon both paid their respects to the late wrestler. Huber held the Intercontinental Title and three tag team championships with the company.
Triple H wrote, “Amazing talent … Better human being, husband and father.” His wife Stephanie added, “I’m so deeply sorry for the loss of Jon Huber. We bonded off the love of our children. He was a true family man. #RIPBrodieLee.”
Like Hulk Hogan and so many others, another star to pay his respects was Randy Orton. He teamed up with Lee during his stint in the Wyatt Family. He posted a message on Twitter on Saturday evening.
“I don’t have the words. #RIPBrodieLee May God send his beautiful family as much strength as possible.”
