YouTube sensation Jake Paul is putting his house on the market, leaving Los Angeles, and looking to focus on his pro boxing career.
Paul appears to be taking his new move seriously after knocking out former NBA player Nate Robinson in the second round of their boxing match in late November.
“The main reason is that I am stepping into a new chapter of my life where I am a legitimate pro fighter,” Paul said to TMZ. “And being in Los Angeles, there’s so many distractions, so much going on and it doesn’t really allow me to focus on training.”
Jake Paul Says Los Angeles ‘Too Much To Be Around’
“As you guys know, from all my training camps, I’ve been to Big Bear, I’ve been to Las Vegas, those environments are better places for me to become the best athlete I can be,” he said.
“In Los Angeles, you guys know has all the parties, all the madness, and it’s too much to be around because I’m the type of guy whose attracted to that chaos,” Paul said. “And for me, if I want to be one of the top prize fighters in the world which is my goal then being here just isn’t the move.
“There’s a saying, ‘Comfortability kills,’ and I have found it so true in every aspect of my life,” Paul said. “I have everything here and all the luxuries and comforts. I don’t even spend most of my time here.”
Paul said when he was training for the Robinson fight, he spent four months in Las Vegas.
Jake Paul Trying To Book A Match With Conor McGregor
Reports cite Paul is looking toward the Miami area as his destination. According to TMZ, Paul is already down there yet renting a place for now.
One thing Paul has been doing is tying to book a match with UFC legend Conor McGregor. In fact, he’s challenged McGregor to a $50 million fight.
“My team sent you a $50 million dollar offer this morning — 50 million dollars cash, proof of funds, the biggest fight offer you’ve ever been offered,” Paul says while sitting in his quarter-of-a-million-dollar Lamborghini.
“But, you’re scared to fight me, Conor!” Paul continues. “You’re ducking me because you don’t wanna lose to a f**king YouTuber. You’re 0-1 as a boxer. I’m 2-0 as a boxer.”
Dana White Lays The Smackdown On Paul’s Fight Wish
Yet don’t look for the clash to happen anytime soon, according to UFC President Dana White.
White provided a definite no regarding Paul’s desire to fight McGregor.
In an exclusive with TMZ, White said, “Conor McGregor is one of the greatest fighters on Earth right now. He shouldn’t be fighting kids that have f**king YouTube videos.”
Additionally, if it couldn’t get any more definite and heart-stomping for young Jake Paul, Dana White said “zero chance” of it ever happening.
“There’s a market for these kinda fights,” White said. “It’s just not what I do … There will be a day when Conor McGregor could do these types of fights and make a bunch of money … but it ain’t happening anytime soon.”
MMA star McGregor will face off on Jan. 23 against Dustin Poirier.
