Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley: Betting Odds for Sunday’s Match

by Jonathan Howard

Tonight is the night. Finally, Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley face off in the ring after much pomp and circumstance around the fight itself. While Woodley has won UFC world titles and is one of the best welterweights ever in the sport, boxing is different.

Paul on the other hand has a limited fighting career but has produced wins.

After defeating Ben Askren in his last fight, Paul showed that he has somewhat legit power behind his strikes. Although Askren is far from a boxer, had hip surgery, and came out of retirement, he took down another fighter. However, this fight with Woodley is going to be different. Yes, the former UFC champion has lost his last three fights, but he wasn’t fighting a YouTuber. Kamaru Usman took his title back in 2019 which Usman still has in the welterweight division.

Jake Paul also has the advantage in the physical stats. Woodley is coming up in weight for this fight. Paul walks around at about 200lb normally, there was a 190 limit at the weigh-in, of course. The 24-year-old is four inches taller, has a bigger body, and two-inch reach advantage. Those things matter in a fight. However, the experience of Woodley will matter a ton too. He knows what it feels like to take a hard hit, but the 39-year-old will have to prove himself in a whole new sport and weight class.

So, heading into the fight, Jake Paul is the favorite. Whether he knocks out Woodley is up for question, but he could easily go the distance and win in the decision. The point is, MMA fighters past their prime are not great boxers in just a few months of training.

Right now you can get odds on Jake Paul to win at -200. That might be different depending on the sportsbook, but that is right where the line sits.

Tyron Woodley can be found at around +150-170. Those a decent odds in his first boxing match. It sure seemed like the two don’t like each other, but with Paul being a guy that lives off drama, who is to say what is real.

Last night during the weigh-in, Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley about got into it.
