Jake Paul Under Investigation in Puerto Rico After Disturbing Nesting Turtles in Viral Video

by Anna Dunn

Notorious influencer Jake Paul is under investigation by Puerto Rican authorities after a video of him disturbing nesting turtles went viral. In a since-deleted Instagram video, the star rode a large motorized vehicle over a sandy beach alongside another driver. While that doesn’t sound like an offense, it’s the ever-important Turtle nesting season in Puerto Rico.

“I have ordered an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the use of two motor vehicles on beaches that are presented to be in Puerto Rico,” secretary of natural and environmental resources Rafael Marchargo said in a statement.

The Puerto Rican government has forbidden the use of motor vehicles on beaches to protect the wildlife.

“Although the video does not establish where or when it was carried out, the DNER reminds citizens that this type of activity is prohibited by law to protect the environment and the species that can nest or live on the beaches. Those who violate the law face fines and other penalties, if applicable.” Marchago said.

This isn’t The First time Authorities Have Investigated Jake Paul

Last August, the FBI raided Jake Paul’s home. There, they reportedly seized multiple firearms from the aforementioned LA mansion. One of which was a long gun propped up against the influencer’s hot tub. The raid was likely tied to a looting investigation after Jake Paul was caught filming a looted mall in Arizona.

Even without criminal investigations, Jake Paul has caused serious controversy since he entered the youtube scene. For many, Paul’s incident with the turtles is the tip of an enormous iceberg.

In fact, Paul has reportedly embraced this persona. In January of 2020, he told The Sun, “I’m like the evil troll behind the iPhone screen just laughing and giggling and just having fun with this whole entire thing.”

Paul Brothers have Boxing Careers

Despite pushback, Jake Paul is taking his boxing career more seriously. He recently beat boxer Ben Askren. Askren didn’t mince words when speaking about his defeat.

“I didn’t let the MMA community down; I let the world down,” he said. “People f—ing hate Jake Paul, and they wanted me to make him miserable.”

Recently, Jake Paul got in a fight with Floyd Mayweather at a press conference. Mayweather will fight Jake Paul’s brother, Logan Paul. The incident occurred after Paul stole Mayweather’s hat. Conor Mcgregor slammed the two for the incident, calling it “embarrassing.”

But as his brother prepares to fight Mayweather on June 6th, Jake Paul faces a different type of heat. Paul has yet to release a statement about the viral beach incident.
