Ole Miss football head coach Lane Kiffin has been the “young” guy for a long time in coaching.
Despite being a year older than Kirby Smart, Kiffin is still able to pull off the young look. That has never been more clear than on his most recent recruiting trips. It looks like the football coach has a secret weapon in his arsenal… and it’s got a whole lotta horsepower.
Recruit after recruit has been posting pictures of Kiffin on his latest recruiting circuit. Of course, the ball coach is going out to see committed and non-committed players. Signing day is approaching and that means taking things up a notch.
Check out Lane Kiffin hanging out with his recruits and posing in front of his Porsche. It’s a classic move for head coaches to drive recruits around in style. But the Ole Miss coach brings the luxury vehicle to them!
Reginald Hughes is already committed to the Rebels. The Northeast Mississippi C.C. linebacker is an impressive player. He ranks 12th in the JUCO class.
Here’s Kiffin hanging out with Union, New Jersey talent Davison Igbinosun. The DB is a four-star, top-200 athlete according to On3 Sports. The coach couldn’t help but pull out the drip. The hoodie with the Jordans shows he’s still got it.
Ole Miss Has Momentum
Right now, Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin have to feel confident. They are arguably the third-best team in the SEC. The other two are in the College Football Playoff. This season, they finished on a four-game win streak and are headed to the Sugar Bowl.
Currently, the recruiting class of 2022 has 14 commits. While those are likely to stick, it isn’t guaranteed. Coaches around the country are locking up their loose ends. Most are going to be hitting up the transfer portal as well.
As for Kiffin, his job is to get this class out to about 20 players or so. While the team performed well this season, they are not where they would like to be in this class. That is all subject to change. However, 11 other teams in the SEC have a better class already. That includes Vanderbilt who has a class of 20 three-star players.
However, Kiffin doesn’t seem bothered. In fact, he seems as confident as ever.
Lane Kiffin Stayed Put at Ole Miss
One of the most important things that happened after the regular season for Ole Miss… keeping Kiffin. He just finished with a great record of 10-2 and there were some big-name jobs open. Oregon, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and more. I didn’t include the USC job because… well, the Trojans have been there done that.
However, consistency is key. So, keeping Lane Kiffin in Oxford is a major win for the program. There weren’t a lot of rumors about him even wanting to move. It seems that short of the Alabama job or a 5-win season, Kiffin is the man for the Rebels.
