LeBron James Sends Love to Dr. Dre Following Rapper’s Brain Aneurysm: ‘Praying for You’

LeBron James is sending his prayers to Dr. Dre for a speedy recovery. The rapper almost died from an aneurysm on Tuesday (Jan. 6). Dre spent the night in an ICU unit while doctors worked to save his life.

On Instagram, James wrote, “Praying for you my Brother!!” He also shared a photo of the two laughing during a photo shoot.

Over the years, the rapper and James have built up a friendly relationship. For one, Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, is an avid fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. The rapper even released a tribute video when Lakers legend Kobe Bryant passed. But James has also been repping Dre’s popular Beats headphones since 2010.

James wore his pair of Beats on Tuesday night before his matchup against the Memphis Timber Wolves. The athlete is also a silent investor in the company and made upwards to the tune of $700 million.

Dr. Dre in the ICU

Reports that Dre experienced an aneurysm surfaced on Jan. 5. Reportedly, the rapper was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical center. Doctors, there, were trying to discover what caused bleeding in the rapper’s brain. But Dre was in a stable and lucid condition.

On Instagram, Dre, or someone on his behalf offered an update on his condition. “Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”

Dre is a legend within the rap industry and became one of its most influential figures in the 1990s. He worked with N.W.A and released successful solo ventures like “The Chronic” and “2001.” In addition, the Grammys have nominated Dre for 29 awards across his career, six of which he won.
