Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic has been a one-man battering ram for his team this season. So it only makes sense he’d show up to a game in a tank.

Well, sorta.

Maybe not quite what you’d find on the battleground, but close enough. Ahead of Dallas’ Wednesday night home game against the Atlanta Hawks, Doncic arrived to American Airlines Center in a six-wheel, tank-like vehicle.

The car, dubbed “Hellfire,” is an Apocalypse 6X6 model which resembles a Jeep.

Though Doncic, 23, has been the catalyst to the Mavericks’ (24-22) success this season, he did get some help against Atlanta. Doncic led the way with 30 points on 9-of-19 from the field with eight assists and four rebounds, though forward Christian Wood and shooting guard Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with 42 combined points. In addition, forward Reggie Bullock provided 18 points off the bench.

All for naught, as the Hawks defeated the Mavericks, 130-122, to give Dallas its third straight loss. Atlanta had eight players finish in double-digits, with shooting guard Dejounte Murray putting up a team-leading 30 points on 12-of-18 shooting.

The Mavericks have now gone nearly a month allowing more than 100 points each game — a trend that’s troubling to Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd.

“We gave up 130,” Kidd said after the game. “Team shot 57%. It’s a shootaround. In this league you do that, doesn’t matter if you have Luka or LeBron or Kareem, you lose.”

As he has been since essentially stepping foot in the NBA, Doncic is an MVP candidate this season. He entered Wednesday’s contest averaging a league-high 33.8 PPG with 9.0 RPG and 8.8 APG. Doncic is shooting a career-high 49.8% from the field and 35.1% from behind the arc.
