NASCAR fans are more than familiar with racing legend Dale Earnhardt Jr., but many likely don’t know much about his wife Amy Reimann. So let’s take a look at the famous racer’s better half.

At A Glance:

  • Amy Reimann studies and cheers at the University of Kentucky
  • Reimann marries first husband in 2008
  • Amy Reimann excels in interion design
  • Meets Jr. in 2009, marries him in 2016

Reimann was born and raised in Texas before attending the University of Kentucky during her college years. While at UK, she was a member of the cheerleading squad before becoming one of the prestigious Wildcat Dancers. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in interior design before moving on to her professional career.

While at Kentucky, she also met her first husband, Tommy Cook, who was a wide receiver for the university’s football team. However, their marriage didn’t last long. The couple separated the same year they got hitched in 2008, with Reimann citing continuous disagreements as their downfall.

However, after graduating from UK, Reimann got her first job as an interior designer when Wakefield Beasley hired her as a project coordinator. She stayed with the architectural firm as she continued to gain experience and work at her craft. Her hard work paid off when multiple companies came calling for her services. Reimann decided to move on when Micamy Design Studio offered her the position of Director of Charlotte Studio. As her career continued its ascent, so did her wealth and respect within the interior design industry.

Her career really took off when she landed as the director of Charlotte Studio.

Amy Reimann and Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Relationship

In 2009, a year after her divorce from Cook, Reimann met her future NASCAR-racing husband. The interior designer met Dale Jr. while working for Micamy Design Studio in Charlotte, North Carolina. Small world, as Earnhardt grew up and lives right outside of Charlotte in Kannapolis. The famous racer hired Reimann to decorate his house, and the pair have been inseparable ever since. Yet the couple kept their relationship private for more than two years after meeting. In December 2011, the couple finally appeared together during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champions Week Awards Ceremony.

The couple did not jump right into marriage, though. They took their time. Following almost six years of dating, Earnhardt popped the question and Reimann said “yes.” The newly engaged couple announced the big news to the world on June 17, 2015. Dale Jr. asked for her hand in marriage while the pair were in Germany on vacation. The happy couple tied the knot on Dec. 31, 2016, during a New Year’s Eve celebration in Lexington, North Carolina at Richard Childress’ Vineyards.

A year and a half later, Reimann and Earnhardt welcomed their first child on April 30, 2018, when she gave birth to their daughter Isla. In October 2020, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Nicole Lorraine Earnhardt. The parents named their second child by combining Amy’s middle name (Nicole) with Earnhardt’s mother’s name (Lorraine).

Hopefully, NASCAR fans now have a better picture of Amy Reimann and who she is as an individual and as Earnhardt’s partner. The successful interior designer made a life for herself well before meeting Earnhardt, but the pair are still one of NASCAR’s most prominent couples even though Jr. is retired from racing.
