When it comes to the football field, there isn’t much that NFL Hall of Famer Michael Strahan has not done.
One of the greatest defensive players of all time, Michael Strahan’s list of accomplishments is second to none. His story is well known to football fans around the world, making him one of the most recognizable athletes. After playing football for only a short while in high school, Michael Strahan would accept a scholarship offer to attend Texas Southern University. He rewrote the record books at the small African American university, registering 41.5 sacks during his time at TSU. It was on to the NFL after his collegiate playing days came to an end and he was drafted by the New York Giants in 1992. He would also go on to become one of the best defensive ends to ever step on a football field. He was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2013, where the bust of his face will live forever.
Perhaps the only thing as impressive a Michael Strahan on the field — is Michael Strahan off the field. When his playing days were over, he turned his attention to a new career in the media. And what a post-football career he’s made for himself. Strahan is one of the most in-demand television personalities in the game and he doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. You may wonder what Michael Strahan does in his free time or if he even has free time with all that he’s going on. One thing he loves to do is spend time with his family — including those with four legs. In a recent social media post, he explains how treats work with his dog, Enzo.
Michael Strahan Fools his Pup, Enzo, With Empty ‘Treat’ Hand
The former NFLer includes four photos in his post. The photos show Enzo examing his owner’s hand in hopes of finding a treat. When he realizes there is no treat to be had — peace, Enzo out. It’s a feeling every dog owner can relate to.
“A series of “treats,” Michael Strahan says. “Swipe until the end. When I don’t have a treat in my hand…he is Out!”
Despite tricking his pup with an empty treat hand, Michael Strahan has been very generous — especially to his Alma mater. The former New York Giant Star has always been a leader by example, dating back to his playing days.
He recently made a large donation to the Texas Southen University football team, supplying them with new equipment for the season. His latest commitment to the school is a donation of 100 football helmets that the team desperately needed for the season.
In addition to the NFL Hall of Fame, Michael Strahan was inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
