There is another sports star in the Michael Strahan family as the athletic gene runs deep in the family.
Michael Strahan is one of the most dominant defenders the National Football League has ever seen. After only playing football for a short time, he was offered a scholarship to join Texas Southern University football team. While at TSU, he had great success and is still the school’s all-time leader in sacks with 41.5 total. He also holds the single-season record for sacks with 19.
At the conclusion of his collegiate career, he was drafted by the New York Giants in the second round of the 1992 NFL draft. He would go on to play all of his NFL seasons with the New York Giants and his accolades and accomplishments are many. He was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2013 and the New York Giants retired the number 92 in his honor just a few years ago.
Michael Strahan will tell you that his greatest accomplishment is that of being a father. On Thursday, the former All-Pro defensive end took to social media to brag on his daughter, Isabella. It is easy to tell from the video that Michael Strahan shares that Isabella, a volleyball player, has her father’s elite athleticism. A lovely young lady, Isabella is a standout near the net.
“That’s my girl!” he writes in the social media post. “Swipe right to Isabella Strahan showing up and showing out on the Volleyball Court!”
Strahan also refers to himself as a “girl dad” in the post — a title that suits him just fine.
Michael Strahan Gives Back to Those Who Helped Him
The NFL Hall of Famer takes a lot of pride in being a good father to Isabella as well as his other three children. Michael Strahan has always led by example and strives to be a positive influence on his family.
Strahan puts his money where his mouth is and also where his heart is. He recently made a large donation to his alma mater, furnishing them with brand new field equipment. His most recent donation to the team is 100 brand new helmets that the TSU Tigers sorely needed. The team got to try out their new helmets earlier this week and it is safe to say they are pleased. The team’s head coach, Clarence McKinney, sent out a tweet thanking Michael Strahan for his support.
“Huge shoutout and thank you goes to Michael Strahan for taking care of his alma mater with a donation of new helmets to the football team,” McKinney says in his thank you tweet.
Michael Strahan was inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
