Even Homer Simpson gets it. In a Thanksgiving message, Michael Strahan urges his followers to wear facial coverings and practice social distancing.
To get his point across, either Strahan or one of his fellow coworkers put a Fox NFL mask on a bust of America’s favorite lovable idiot. Sculptor Richard Becker created the bust of Homer to celebrate “The Simpsons” 500th episode celebration. The bust resides in Moe’s Garden on Fox Studios Lot in Los Angeles, California.
Strahan wrote, “Happy Thanksgiving from @nflonfox and Homer Simpson. Even Homer got the mask message!”
Michael Strahan Urges People to Social Distance
Strahan is a big believer in social distancing and mask mandates. Rather than travel for Thanksgiving, Strahan urged his followers to spend time with family virtually. He suggested video-chatting with family as a way to celebrate together.
“Hey, you guys. I just wanted to wish you a happy Thanksgiving,” Strahan said. “I know it’s a tough Thanksgiving. It’s a lot different than what we are used to. A lot of us aren’t going to be around our family, our friends, and loved ones, but that does not mean that we cannot celebrate, that we cannot reach out, we cannot communicate.”
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! It may be different this year than usual but take time to send some love virtually! #HappyThanksgiving pic.twitter.com/PiFc3wObks

“So get on those Facetimes, those Skypes, I don’t care if you have to text, do whatever you’ve got to do, you just let them know you love them,” he continued. “This year I am very thankful for my family. I’m so thankful for my friends, I’m thankful for health, and I’m thankful we are all here to be thankful. Alright, so happy Thanksgiving, and just hang in there. We will get through this next year. We will eat more turkey and celebrate in person, so Happy Thanksgiving, you guys.”
