Michael Strahan took a break from his busy schedule to remind fans to “take time to send some love virtually” this Thanksgiving.

Michael Strahan’s Message to Fans

Former NFL player and television personality Michael Strahan took to Twitter to wish everyone a safe and healthy Thanksgiving.

“Happy Thanksgiving to you all! It may be different this year than usual but take time to send some love virtually! #HappyThanksgiving.”

In the video Strahan posted, he said he understands that this year has been challenging for everyone.

“Hey, you guys. I just wanted to wish you a happy Thanksgiving. I know it’s a tough Thanksgiving. It’s a lot different than what we are used to. A lot of us aren’t going to be around our family, our friends, and loved ones, but that does not mean that we cannot celebrate, that we cannot reach out, we cannot communicate.”

Strahan urged his over 1.3 million followers to reach out and tell your family and friends that you love them. He also added things he is grateful for this year.

“So get on those Facetimes, those Skypes, I don’t care if you have to text, do whatever you’ve got to do, you just let them know you love them. This year I am very thankful for my family. I’m so thankful for my friends, I’m thankful for health, and I’m thankful we are all here to be thankful. Alright, so happy Thanksgiving, and just hang in there. We will get through this next year. We will eat more turkey and celebrate in person, so Happy Thanksgiving, you guys.”

CDC Guidelines for Thanksgiving

According to the CDC, the safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving is at home or with the people you currently live with. If you do plan to gather, they recommend small party sizes. In addition, individuals should stay six feet away from one another, wear masks and wash their hands regularly. The department also asks those, if possible, to sit outside for better ventilation. If it isn’t possible, people should avoid singing indoors, as well as keep the music down to avoid shouting.
