NASCAR star driver Bubba Wallace is gearing up for a big race this weekend as he and other racers head to Richmond, Virginia.

The Toyota Owners 400 will feature the best that the NASCAR Cup Series has to offer and that includes Bubba Wallace. The big race is set to begin at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon at the Richmond Raceway.

The 27-year-old star driver from Mobile, Alabama will be cruising in style during this weekend’s pivotal race. Wallace took to social media on Wednesday to reveal the color scheme of the car he will be driving. The driver hopes the colorful Toyota Camry will find its way to the winner’s circle this weekend.

“She’s here,” Wallace proudly proclaims in the Instagram post’s caption. “Excited to get this Root Insurance Team Toyota Camry on the track at Richmond Raceway.”

Bubba Wallace’s Wednesday morning social media post took in thousands of “likes” and dozens of comments within hours of going live. Many of his fans took the opportunity to wish their favorite driver the best of luck in this weekend’s race.

“Beautiful like always!” an Instagram user writes in the post’s comments. “I would love to see some confetti on that car!”

Bubba Wallace Aiming for Big Win This Weekend

Bubba Wallace competes for 23XI Racing, an auto racing organization whose ownership includes NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan. The group’s ownership also includes former NFL head coach Joe Gibbs and driver Denny Hamlin. Wallace races the number 23 car in part to honor Jordan and his contributions to his own budding career. Jordan wore number 23 during the majority of his professional basketball career.

Wallace’s 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season has not gone according to plan to this point. And the driver has much to prove. Through the 2021 races, he has yet to finish above 16th place. He recently came in 27th place in a race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

While the Bubba Wallace car looks incredible with its new orange, black and white color scheme, Wallace is looking for a top 10 finish this weekend. There are still plenty of races left in the 2021 season, which gives him plenty of time to catch up in the overall points standings.

He hopes that process starts this weekend in Richmond.
