It remains to be seen how Bubba Wallace will fair in today’s (Sunday, March 7) NASCAR Cup Series Race. Regardless of his finish, he’s going to look pretty great as he zooms around the track during Pennzoil 400 Presented by Jiffy Lube in Las Vegas.

NASCAR: Did Bubba Wallace Put a Hidden Message in Car’s New Paint Job?

In addition to looking very sleek and ready for the NASCAR race track, Bubba Wallace’s new paint scheme on his No. 23 race car might have more it than just style. There could also be substance.

It’s a small detail, but some fans believe it is significant. With previous paint schemes, the racer’s initials appeared on the car. Between the “B” and the “W” also appeared a hand making the rockstar symbol.

Interestingly on this new paint scheme, the hand gesture appears to be different. However, it may just be fan speculation that the logo is a little different. And, some fans believe the new hand gesture is the one associated with the Black Lives Matter movement. Fans who believe this think it is just another way Bubba Wallace is showing NASCAR fans – and the sports world – that his support for the Black Lives Matter movement continues.

Wallace even shared a photo of his initials on the new paint scheme via Twitter on March 3.

Fans also reacted to Wallace’s tweet on March 3. Some of their responses are posted below:

  • “It’s all in the detail. Cool addition to the camo.”
  • “I finally saw it. Turning my cell lengthwise, zooming, and full brightness. Love it!!”
  • “That is bad a**!”
