NASCAR driver Kyle Larson is going home victorious after being crowned the winner of the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
With Larson taking home the victory on Sunday, it becomes his first win since being suspended for using a racial slur back in April of last year. In addition, the win sets other milestones for Larson, also known as “Yung Money.” Not only does it mark his first victory as a driver for Hendrick Motorsports but it is also his first career win at a 1.5-mile track.
On Sunday evening, Barstool Racing tweeted a video of the final lap of the NASCAR Cup Series race. The video shows Kyle Larson crossing the finish line in his No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE. It also captures his team celebrating while he does so.
“Kyle Larson is going back to victory lane,” Barstool Racing captions the video. The one-minute-long clip has already racked up more than 15,000 views in just a few minutes after going live.
NASCAR Fans React to Kyle Larson Winning Pennzoil 400
Fans in the comments section didn’t seem too surprised that Larson was able to come away with the big win. In fact, many NASCAR fans expect much more of the same throughout the year.
Ed L (@EdLacz) left a comment saying, “More to come this year for the 5.” Shortly after, another fan left a similar message. They wrote, “More to come. This kid will set the series on fire and then do it on Saturdays on dirt too.”
And Twitter user Jeff Zacharias (@jzach21) could not contain his excitement without the use of a few choice words. “Bout f—ing time, let’s f—ing go!!!!”
The victory no doubt marks a long time coming for Kyle Larson. After being fired not even a year ago by Chip Ganassi Racing for his use of a slur, Larson is doing what he can to climb back to the top of the sport. His win Sunday is a great start, but there’s still a ways to go for the 28-year-old.
