We all know the superstar NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, but let’s get to know his girlfriend, Amanda Carter. Wallace has the NASCAR world buzzing with his passion for the sport and for social justice. He has been outspoken about his feelings toward racial injustice and social change, but he hasn’t shared a ton about his personal life outside of the track. The Bubba Wallace We Know
The NASCAR icon has been in the spotlight since breaking onto the scene last summer. As the first full-time Black NASCAR driver, Wallace has pushed for a lot of positive change in the sport. This all started with the Black Lives Matter movement that began gaining momentum after the murder of George Floyd in June.
In that month alone, Bubba Wallace wore an “I Can’t Breath” T-shirt, demanded the ban of confederate flags at NASCAR racetracks, and raced in a car with #BlackLivesMatter written on the side. This got the attention of the sport and all of its fans.
For good reason, too, as Wallace is not only a civil rights activist, but also a phenomenal racer. He most recently signed on with the all-new racing team 23XI run by former NBA legend, Michael Jordan. He debuted the #23 car last Sunday at Daytona but fell into a fiery wreck on the final lap of the race.
The Girlfriend We Don’t
Bubba Wallace and Amanda Carter started dating in 2016, so far as we can tell. In an Instagram post in 2018, Wallace alluded to their relationship’s two year mark. In the post, he said “Our love is so strong that ya wouldn’t know we’re polar opposites. Thanks for balancing me out the last 2 years!”
Like Bubba Wallace, Amanda Carter grew up in North Carolina. She was born in 1994 and has four siblings, three brothers, and a sister. After high school, she attended Appalachian State University just up the road in Boone, North Carolina, where she involved herself with the Alpha Phi sorority. She graduated with a degree in Finance and Banking, and currently works as a senior analyst at Bank of America in Charlotte.
Bubba Wallace and Amanda Carter Relationship
Bubba Wallace and Amanda Carter’s relationship has had its ups and downs. For instance, the two allegedly broke up briefly in 2018, but later got back together. Since then, the couple bought a new puppy, and have shown a ton of support for each other on social media.
When Bubba Wallace stood up for racial justice in June, Amanda Carter stood by his side. She posted on Instagram in support of her long-time boyfriend. “I am so proud of you for using your platform,” Carter wrote. “I wish the people saying hurtful comments knew you, I wish everyone knew you.”
She continued to support her boyfriend. “I hope people continue to stand with you because you’re standing for so many others,” she continued. “So many little boys and girls who dream of going fast but haven’t seen someone who looks like them, for all the new and old fans who felt uncomfortable coming to a race and for everyone who has experienced racism. I am so thankful that this was not a purposeful act, I am so thankful you are safe.”
