New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees Shares ‘Prayer Wall’ Made for Legend After Recent Injury

On Saturday, New Orleans Saints star quarterback Drew Brees shared an Instagram post of a prayer wall wishing the player well after suffering recent injuries during a game.

ESPN’s Ed Werder reported that Brees’ injuries included “multiple rib fractures” and a “collapsed lung on the right side.” The injuries landed Brees on the injured reserve list this week, which means he will miss at least three weeks. However, it is uncertain exactly when New Orleans expects him back on the field.

This weekend, one of Brees’ good friends sent him a photo of their family’s prayer wall. The family’s children added Brees and Saints tight end Josh Hill to the chalkboard. In addition to the QB’s injury, Hill recently suffered a concussion that will keep him out of play, as well. The children are keeping the two Saints players in their prayers as they recover from their injuries.

“I had a very good friend send me this today…they have a Prayer Wall in their house where their kids write down what/who they would like to pray for each day. I love this! Spread the Love of Christ!” he wrote on Instagram.

Additionally, the children wrote a few more messages on their prayer wall. They include a prayer for their mother’s friend, that everyone would come to know Jesus, and that “COVID-19 would stop.” The quarterback loved the prayer wall idea and made sure to share the kind gesture with his 1.7 million Instagram followers.

Brees Shares Recovery Photo, Says He’ll Be Back Soon

On Tuesday, Brees shared an injury update on social media. The Super Bowl-winning quarterback posted a photo with three of his children, which he referred to as his “medical team.”

The photo shows the three children huddled around Brees and using toy medical equipment to tend to their father’s medical needs. He assured Saints fans that he’s in good hands.

“Who Dat Nation: I’ve got the best medical team in the world…will be back in no time!” Brees wrote.

Brees left Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers in the first half and did not return. Supposedly, the quarterback told Saints head coach Sean Payton that if he returned to the field, he would be ineffective. Therefore, backup Jameis Winston filled in for the rest of the game.

The Saints currently have a 7-2 record so far this season and lead the NFC South division. Next up, they play bitter division rival Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon.
