New Orleans Saints superstar running back Alvin Kamara had a relatable way of describing his injury to the media.

“Sean Payton says running back Alvin Kamara was limited today due to a food injury,” sportswriter Greg Auman tweets. “They’ll be careful with him this week and call him ‘day to day. ‘They (Saints) play the (Tampa Bay) Bucs on Sunday night.”

The three-time Pro Bowl tailback had Saints fans in a tizzy when he wasn’t seen at Wednesday’s practice with his teammates. Kamara reportedly suffered a bone bruise to his foot, according to USA Today. The always colorful Kamara spoke to the media after practice and says he intended on returning to practice on Thursday.

Asked by reporters to talk about his injury, Kamara told them it’s like a similar occurrence that everyone goes through at some point.

“You ever stump your toe on the corner of the bedpost or something,” he says. “That is kind of what I am dealing with. That’s tough. It’s like, it sucks. That s**t hurts. But I am fine. I will be at practice tomorrow (Thursday). It’s more maintenance than anything.”

The Saints midweek injury officially lists the running back as “limited” and he expects to return to practice this week.

Kamara on Pro Bowl Pace

During the Saints last game against the Chicago Bears, Kamara appeared to be in pain at one point. Despite whatever was ailing him during the game, he still managed to rack up 67 rushing yards on the ground. He added nine catches for 96 yards through the air.

Kamara, who played collegiate football at the University of Tennessee, is on pace for another Pro Bowl season. He has more than 400 yards rushing on 87 rushing attempts and 55 receptions for 556 yards. He has four rushing touchdowns and another three touchdowns in the passing game. Kamara and the Saints will take on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs this Sunday.
