Aaron Rodgers is just built different. The Green Bay Packers quarterback makes NFL history with a record not even Tom Brady could achieve and shut up any talks about retirement.
According to Bleacher Reporter, Rodgers is the first player in NFL history to have five seasons with 35 touchdown passes. Rodgers’ two touchdown passes in the on-going game against the Philadelphia Eagles pushed him over the record.
Aaron Rodgers Plans To Play For Years to Come
It must be all those massages Rodgers gets when he’s not on the field. But the quarterback is having a great season so far. Not counting the on-going game against the Eagles, Rodgers has a completion rate of 68.5% and also has thrown for 3100 yards. Recently, Rodgers detailed how he keeps his body healthy and in shape. His regimen includes a weekly massage.
“I don’t spend a million on my body every year,” Rodgers said on ‘The Pat McAfee Show.” “Don’t spend anywhere close to that, to be honest. I get a massage at least once a week, once or twice. Then I have daily, weekly routines I go through. I wouldn’t say it’s super sophisticated. It’s something that evolved through the years and worked for me.”
Many people say that 40 is the new 30. And in that case, Rodgers is playing like he’s in his 20s. The 37-year-old doesn’t plan to retire anytime soon, whether that’s with Green Bay or not. Recently, the franchise drafted quarterback Jordan Love, a sign Rodgers is still trying to understand.
Rodgers told ESPN, “And as much as I understand the organization’s future outlook and wanting to make sure they’re thinking about the team now and down the line — and I respect that — at the same time, I still believe in myself and have a strong desire to play into my 40s. And I’m just not sure how that all works together at this point.”
