Fox Sports Analyst Looks Back at New England Patriots Dynasty: ‘Bill Belichick is Getting Exposed’

by Thad Mitchell

The 2020 NFL season has not gone the way the New England Patriots and coach Bill Belichick thought it would.

The team is coming off one of the worst losses of Belichick’s era, dropping their last game to the Buffalo Bills 38-9. The loss to their division rivals also secures the first losing season for the Pats in quite some time.

They will carry a 6-9 record into their final game this weekend against the New York Jets. The team hasn’t got much to play for as they were mathematically eliminated from the NFL playoffs weeks ago.

Bill Belichick let his emotions get the best of him in the team’s most recent game against the Bills. After speaking on a sideline telephone to another team staffer, the coach spiked the phone onto a team bench.

Bill Belichick Struggling Without Star Quarterback

Despite being one of the NFL’ s most successful coaches in league history, blame is piling up on Bill Belichick. The multi-time NFL Super Bowl winning coach cannot seem to get his team pointed into the right direction. Numerous NFL analysts have pointed to the coach’s inability to adapt at the quarterback position.

The Pats lost future Hall-of-Famer Tom Brady to the Tampa Bay Bucs in the offseason. Now, some analysts are saying this season proves it was Brady, not Belichick, who was the genius behind the team’s success.

Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless is one of the analysts now questioning Bill Belichick’s coaching abilities. He says the long time coach is “getting exposed” with the departure of his star quarterback.

“The problem is that Tom Brady camouflaged all of Belichick’s blunders in personnel decisions,” Bayless says. “All of his draft swings and misses and free agent swings and misses…all of the things he got away with under Brady, he is no longer getting away with. In the end, he does not have a quarterback.”

Belichick and the Patriots will wrap up their season this Sunday against the New York Jets.
