Whether you tune in for the game or for the halftime show, you definitely don’t want to miss Super Bowl LVI. Earlier today, the NFL released the lineup of performers for the Pepsi halftime show that has sports and music fans alike losing their minds. In between the action on the field, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar will light up the stage. Needless to say, Pepsi is just as siked as fans to have the legendary musicians take the stage.

The company posted an intense photo of the five hip-hop legends in a blue shadow on Twitter. In the Superbowl LVI ad, Dr. Dre posed in the front, while the remaining musicians flanked him on both sides.

“43 Grammys, 19 No. 1 Billboard albums, 5 epic hitmakers and 1 stage for the #SBLVI #PepsiHalftime show,” the company tweeted.

As Pepsi and the NFL so casually pointed out, this will be the first time that so many multi-award-winning artists will share the Super Bowl Halftime stage together. SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California will be hosting Super Bowl LVI on February 13, 2022, airing on NBC.

Despite how cool and calm the artist look in Pepsi’s photo, in reality, they’re just as electrified about Super Bowl LVI’s Halftime show as everyone else. Shortly after the NFL released the announcement, Dr. Dre retweeted and chimed in with his own sentiments.

“I’m extremely excited to share the stage with my friends for the #PepsiHalftime Show,” the Super Bowl LVI artist tweeted. “This will introduce the next saga of my career… Bigger and Better than Ever!!!”

Likewise, fellow performer, Eminem, wrote, “Dre day in February? I’m there! #PepsiHalftime Show.”

Dr. Dre Expresses Enthusiasm for Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show

Outside of social media, Dr. Dre elaborated about his excitement for the upcoming Halftime show. According to Variety, the artist explained that not only will Super Bowl LVI be close to his home in California, but it will be a chance to be a part of a historical moment in music.

“The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” said Dr. Dre. “I’m grateful to Jay-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.”

Fellow hip-hop artist, Jay Z also commented on the legendary lineup, particularly the combination of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar. He deemed it “history in the making.”

“On February 13, 2022, at the Super Bowl LVI in Inglewood, CA, in the new SoFi Stadium, Dr. Dre, a musical visionary from Compton, Snoop Dogg, an icon from Long Beach and Kendrick Lamar, a young musical pioneer in his own right, also from Compton, will take center field for a performance of a lifetime,” Jay Z said. “They will be joined by the lyrical genius, Eminem and the timeless Queen, Mary J. Blige.”
