DK Metcalf is quickly establishing himself as one of the NFL’s best players at a very young age. The Seattle Seahawks Wide Receiver turned 23-years-old and celebrated his birthday with a big game against the New York Jets.

After a mediocre game last week against the New York Giants, Metcalf returned to dominance against the Jets on Sunday. The supersize wideout hauled in six catches for 61 yards playing against the winless Jets. Metcalf also caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Russell Wilson in the second quarter. After scoring the touchdown, the birthday boy got a nice surprise from his Seahawks teammates.

The Seattle Seahawks social media page shared the news with the rest of the NFL and football fans.

“Score the touchdown, get an early birthday message from your teammates,” the tweet says.

The birthday card went to Metcalf after scoring the touchdown and a lengthy celebration. After catching the five yard toss from Wilson and finding the endzone it was celebrating time.

The NFL loosened up touchdown celebration rules only a few years ago and players are taking advantage. Players can now have individual or group celebrations without much constraint and Metcalf went for it.

“@dkm14 incredible receiver, questionable camera work,” the Seahawks’ social media page says.

Upon scoring, DK Metcalf took the celebration to the stands. He momentarily took control of a television camera and proceeds to zero in on his teammates, who were coming up to congratulate him on the score.

Upon returning to the field from the stands, he was then given the birthday card. What exactly is written on the birthday card is still a mystery.

In only his second season, Metcalf is establishing himself as a dominant force. On the season he has 69 catches for 1,180 yards and 10 touchdowns.
