During a recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, FOX Sports broadcaster Joe Buck spoke about being offered $1 million to provide commentary for an adult cam website.

Earlier this year, the COVID-19 pandemic kept millions out of work as the country navigated the unprecedented situation. All sports leagues put their seasons on hold or canceled them altogether. With no games to call, Buck was out of work for months like many. However, he did receive some interesting job offers during his downtime.

The longtime broadcaster lent his voice to random everyday videos online. He commentated on clips of people learning to grill, trying to stuff Oreo cookies in their mouths, and their impressive amateur golf shots. Buck said he enjoyed the opportunity to try something different. Yet, the different style of commentary had its negatives as well. Furthermore, the popularity of the videos led to an offer from an adult website.

Buck told Meyers that an adult cam website offered him a job during the pandemic. Additionally, the website offered him $1 million to take the gig. The broadcaster declined their offer, but did joke about what his adult film name would be. In fact, he said he wouldn’t change his name at all and thinks Joe Buck would’ve worked well for the adult industry.

The broadcaster had some fun with the situation though. Buck convinced his mom that he had accepted the $1 million job offer to comment on “live sex acts.” He jokingly let his mother think he took the gig for more than 24 hours before telling her he wasn’t serious.

Buck Said He Had To Be Careful About What Clips He Chose

In addition to random homemade clips sent to him, he also received lots of unwanted explicit videos. He said he had to be careful with the videos and really go through them to make sure he didn’t add his voice to something he shouldn’t have.

“Yeah, I’ve received quite a few,” Buck said. “And you have to be careful. You have to go through these videos like the Zapruder film because you’re worried that there’s going to be something in the background. There’s going to be something hidden like a Highlights Magazine that we should not focus on, but it’s still there and it becomes some internet thing where I put my voice to something that I shouldn’t have.

The broadcaster said he received multiple inappropriate submissions that wouldn’t be suitable for his career, But, he didn’t rule out the idea of commentating on something more risqué later in life. For now though, Buck says he tries to pick the most wholesome videos available.

“Yeah, I’ve had a couple of submissions from let’s say, a man and a woman, that just didn’t seem appropriate to put my voice to in this stage of my life,” Buck explained. “Maybe later in life, but not now. I look at these videos very carefully and pick the ones that seem the most wholesome to put my voice to.”

Each time he used a fan’s video and added his voice to it, he didn’t charge for his services. Instead, he asked the fans to make a donation to their favorite charity. Although he had no way of knowing if they held up their end of the bargain, he hoped they followed through and gave to a good cause.
