NFL Legend Doug Flutie Zips Around Tampa Area in His Own Batmobile

Former NFL quarterback Doug Flutie has one thing that makes him stand apart from the crowd: he has his very own batmobile.

According to TMZ, fans spotted Flutie driving his batmobile around Tampa on Saturday ahead of the Super Bowl.

Flutie’s ride is an impeccable replica of the classic Batmobile from the 1960s TV show designed by the legendary George Barris.

Decades ago, Barris created the car from a modified 1955 Ford Lincoln Futura. When Adam West got behind the driver’s seat, it instantly became one of the world’s most recognized rides, becoming Batman’s black chariot.

For 58-year-old Flutie, it appears he had to have his own batmobile. Since 2019, Flutie has been the proud owner of his batmobile and keeps it in a “Batcave” at his home. The batman memorabilia doesn’t stop there: he also has a Batman arcade game and a Batman pinball machine.

The classic car also features a red Batphone next to the driver’s seat, paired with racing seatbelts in both seats.

Doug Flutie Will Cheer on Friend & Former Teammate Tom Brady During Super Bowl

On Saturday morning, when Flutie was filling up at a gas station, he posed for pictures and chatted about Sunday’s game.

He also sported a Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s hat, which is no surprise since he’s been a longtime friend of Tom Brady. The two played together for the Patriots in 2005.

Tom Brady has a way of being approachable, even after years of success, stardom and Super Bowls.

During an interview, Doug Flutie explained what impressed him about Bradt when the two first met. Flutie was Brady’s backup and came away from the experience with not just a teammate but a close friend.

“Tom is great,” Flutie said to Bleacher Report’s Rich Eisen. “He had a knack for making everyone feel like they were important. Everybody had a piece of this. The guy that’s in the training room, didn’t even practice that week and Tom would go in and have a good comment for him like, ‘You did a great job on scout team last week and you really made us better.’ Things of that nature.”
