NFL: Saquon Barkley Says ‘Life Is Good’ While Rehabbing Knee Injury

by Madison Miller

A knee injury has kept Saquon Barkley off the field recently.

The running back for the New York Giants suffered the injury while he was trying to break a tackle in a game against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 20. He tore his ACL and meniscus, however, his ACL was reconstructed and the meniscus was also repaired in surgery. The surgery was delayed for a while before taking place.

He is expected to make a full recovery for the next season, which is 11 months away.

So, what is the football player up to now that his knee is in recovery?

He’s just living life. According to a recent tweet, Barkley said that “life is good.” Beyond that, he’s continuing his daily rehab in order to get back in the game in due time.

Barkley’s Future with the Giants

According to ESPN, Barkley was mentioned as one of the NFL’s top running backs alongside Carolina’s Christian McCaffrey. Barkley had 1,037 rushing yards in 15 games.

Many people state that Barkley is well on his way to becoming the next Adrian Peterson. Barkley is still considered a newer player with this shorter season marking the fourth year of his original deal. Although he is anticipated to receive a new contract, it all depends on the knee injury, which is sometimes rough.

Barkley is receiving help from Adrian Peterson himself with the rehab process, something the star player is very familiar with.

“To be that poster child for [ACL recovery] is what I envisioned … Because now people, they look at it, and they say, ‘You know what? I can do that. I’ll be able to come back,” said the MVP according to TMZ.

The Giants are currently seated at 19. They are first in the NFC East region. The next game will be against the Seahawks on Dec. 6.

They had a tight victory against the Bengals on Sunday with a 19-17 victory.

In Week 7, Daniel Jones tripped while rushing to get a touchdown. The camera then went to Barkley who was laughing and dancing. The running back said that Jones redeemed himself and the play ended up working out in the game.

Despite the injury keeping him out of the game, he appears to be in good spirits.
