Odell Beckham Jr. has faith in his Brown. The Cleveland wide receiver tweeted out Thursday that people shouldn’t be surprised if they upset the reigning Super Bowl champs.

The Browns have already upset one potential Super Bowl contender. The team toppled the Steelers last week in the biggest upset this postseason. It’s the team’s first playoff win since 1994.

“Don’t be surprised this weekend when they win….just throwin it out there now.”

Beckham has a history of making predictions that don’t hold up though. He said 2020 would be his biggest season yet. It was one of his least productive, even before his season-ending injury in October when he tore his ACL against the Bengals.

But Odell Beckham isn’t alone on this hopeful hype train. Former Browns great Joe Thomas told TMZ Sports he believes Cleveland will win and make it to the Super Bowl.

“This is the revival and the resuscitation of the Cleveland Browns franchise. For (27) years, to not go to the playoffs, for a lot longer than that not having won a playoff game and to be able to come back, get that monkey off your back, go to Pittsburgh and beat the Steelers, your hated rival, in a game that nobody gave you a chance in.”

“I think it really is the turning of the tides for the Browns franchise, and I think it’s a little bit of the turning of tides in the AFC North as well.”

The Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes and the best record in the NFL. So it will not be an easy road to the Super Bowl. But most analysts think the Browns won’t make it out of Kansas City anyway.

Predictions aren’t going to change the outcome of the game. But at least Beckham and Thomas have some thought behind why they believe the Browns will win. Colin Cowherd wasn’t even reading tea leaves when he predicted Cleveland would lose last week because of how quarterback Baker Mayfield wore his hat.

“Baker Mayfield wore his hat backwards. Bad news for the Browns’ QB,” the analyst tweeted before the game.

Mayfield made sure to turn his hat backward after the win to troll Cowherd.
