OJ Simpson posted to Twitter on Friday to share the news that he has received a COVID-19 vaccine. While most of Simpson’s social media posts are flamed, this one sparked an especially loud response.

Simpson captioned a Tweet, which features a photo of himself getting the shot, with, “Get your shot. I got mine!!!”

Many celebrities and leaders have been public about getting the shots and encouraging others to do the same. That being said, many don’t have the context of being a charged murderer.

Twitter Users Flame OJ Simpson for Getting Vaccinated

Unsurprisingly, this was one of the first things pointed out about Simpson’s tweet, which set Twitter alight within minutes of being posted.

One user, @1RoguePoet, said that seeing a figure like Simpson getting his shot before her elderly parents was obviously angering.

“Yeah that’s just what I want to see, OJ Simpson getting his vaccine before my elderly Dad and immune compromised me.”

Additionally, another user referenced the famous double-murder case of Simpson by framing the image in a different context. For those who are somehow unaware, the former NFL running back was charged with killing his wife Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.

“OJ Simpson receiving the lethal injection for the unjust murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, 1994, colourised”

With 5500 comments and counting, the responses are seemingly endless. A user, @Joe_Laurendi, said that not having the background of being a murderer should put him further up in line.

“As a zero time murderer, I think I deserve this vaccine before you do. Just saying.”

Some bigger names also chimed in. For example, actor and media personality Michael Rapaport.

“That ain’t the right shot you need Sicko,” Rapaport replied.

While many people may have a point with Simpson’s history, he is 73-years-old. In terms of most state vaccination guidelines, that is considered to be old enough to receive the shots. Either way, Simpson may have wanted to save the news.
