Never one to hold back, social media personality and former professional golfer Paige Spiranac took to her Twitter on Friday (July 30th) to call out women who are posting about hot male athletes during the 2020 Olympic Games.
“All I see on [TikTok] is women posting about hot male athletes competing in the Olympics and how it’s the reason they are watching,” Paige Spiranac states in her post. She then states that it is a bit hypocritical when they call men out for the exact same comments and put down women who embrace their “sexy” side.
Paige Spiranac’s followers also sounded off to her statement. One Twitter user tweets, “TikTok is an algorithm-based experience so if that’s all you’re seeing, it’s because those are the only videos you watch long enough to get the algorithm to show more. I’ve seen 0 of these videos.”
Paige’s réponse to the tweet was simply, “I’m literally defending men here and you’re mansplaining TikTok to me.”
Paige Spirance Has No Problem Calling Out Criticism
Paige Spiranac has had her own fair share of criticism over the years. While talking about Bryson DeChambeau after he collapsed during the final round of the 2021 U.S. Open, Spiranac states in her Play A Round podcast, “He looked like he was about to cry on No. 18. I know a lot of you guys are going to say, ‘Well, it’s Bryson. It’s karma. He deserves it.’ Whatever it may be. Regardless of your opinion, we have all been in that position.”
Paige Spiranac then states that she would never want to feel the way that Bryson felt or going through what happened to him. Upon announcing her episode on the topic, a Twitter follower allegedly wrote, “Jesus – does your boyfriend get jealous with how often you talk about Bryson?”
Paige Spiranac’s response was well, perfectly Paige.
“You would never say this to a man. My job is to talk about golf and he is one of the most talked about athletes in the game,” she claps back at the comment, which has since been deleted.
Paige Spiranac Shows Support For Team USA Gymnast Simone Biles
Following Simone Biles withdrawing from the team and all-around team events at the 2020 Olympic Games due to mental health concerns, Paige Spiranac also announced her support for the famous gymnast.
“Let’s not forget that Simone Biles has won over 35 medals for our country while being emotionally, physically, and sexually abused by USA Gymnastics,” Paige Spiranac states in her tweet. She also says that Simone is incredibly strong and does not deserve any of the criticism being thrown at her. “Mental health should never be mocked.”
Paige Spiranac also posts a video of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk calling Simone a “selfish sociopath.” He also refers to Simone as a “shame to the country” despite being an Olympic icon.
