The Kansas City Chiefs may have lost Super Bowl LV; however, Patrick Mahomes and his fiancé are looking to score big as they prepare for their first child.
Following Sunday’s game, Mahomes’ fiance, Brittany Matthews, shared her excitement for their upcoming bundle of joy while also supporting Mahomes after the loss.
Unfortunately, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs weren’t able to recapture the moment of their victory during last year’s big game, coming up short, losing 31-9 against the Bucs.
However, a pregnant and proud Matthews took to Twitter to show her love, and share her giddiness for the couple’s exciting adventure.
“Not how we wanted it to end, but 15 played his heart out and I’m always and forever proud of him in everything he does!,” Matthews wrote, referring to her fiance by his jersey number. “Now let’s have a baby!”
Mahomes and Matthews met while attending Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas. Since then, the high school sweethearts have been together ever since.
Currently, the couple lives in Kansas City and are getting some good practice before the new baby arrives by parenting their two dogs together, a pit bull named Steel and a Cane-Corso called Silver.
Last September, the couple announced their engagement. Later that month, the couple shared the more exciting news: they would be welcoming a new baby into the world.
In October, the couple revealed that they are expecting a little girl.
Patrick Mahomes Extends Contract Ahead Of Baby’s Arrival
In 2020, Mahomes extended his contract to a 10-year commitment with the Chiefs worth nearly $500 million with another $26 million in potential bonuses.
It was the second-largest contract in sports history behind soccer player Lionel Messi’s four-year $673,919,105 contract.
Meanwhile, Randi Martin, Mahomes’ mom, wasn’t shy about her disdain for the Superbowl’s officiating crew. In addition, she also took a stab at Tom Brady’s wife, Gisele Bündchen.
“If you have to have the ref on your team is that really winning!!! @giseleofficial lol” she tweeted.
In another tweet, she wrote: ‘Love our chiefs!! Heartbroken to see how @espn @SportsCenter tried making fun of my son.
But i know his heart and love for his team and chiefs nation! Thank you chiefs fans.. don’t forget these are someone’s sons tv.’
Randi is no stranger to the intensity that comes with sports games. She was married to ex-MLB player Pat Mahomes.
