Patrick Mahomes Fires Back After Tom Brady Hilariously Responds to MLB Player Wearing His Jersey

by Madison Miller

It’s hard to truly say who the greatest of any sport is. The G.O.A.T. changes as more players and more stats come into the picture every year.

However, a recent tweet from the Kansas City Royals MLB team helps show just how indecisive people can be about who the best player is.

Tom Brady is often referred to as one of the best quarterbacks ever. A big part of this is a long 21 years playing the game professionally and seven Super Bowl victories. However, there are also more up-and-coming players that have the potential to be of similar greatness one day.

Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, recently tweeted in response to an MLB player wearing a Tom Brady jersey. The player has the Brady jersey on, but spots a camera and says that “Patrick Mahomes is the best.”

Brady tweets, “Nahhh I think actions always speak louder than words.” This is in reference to the jersey, but also the fact that many try to call themselves the best quarterback, but don’t necessarily have the same extensive record as Brady.

Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes responded to Brady and said, “I guess we will see in 20 years…”

While Brady may be widely considered the best now, Mahomes and others have the potential to steal that title in future years.

People in the comments were quick to take different sides. One user said that, “You could never live up to Brady now that you lost to him in the super bowl…”

The CBS Sports HQ account tweeted Patrick Mahomes’ first 46 career starts. He was ranked first in a number of categories. This included 38 wins, 108.7 pass rating, 114 pass touchdowns, and 14,152 pass yards.

The real debate is whether or not the greatest is measured in yearly stats or overall success. Brady has had 21 years, Mahomes is just getting started.

Patrick Mahomes Future

Although he lost in the Super Bowl against Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Patrick Mahomes is looking at how he can improve before the next season starts. This mindset could make him be the best 20 years from now.

He has recently undergone surgery on his toe injury and is now out of the walking boot. He is now planning on making sure the injury and nothing else will hold him back in the future.

“There are so many different things I can improve in my game. Being able to kind of restart, and start from [the] injury with the feet, I can really improve my footwork. I’ve dealt with ankle injuries in my career and being able to teach myself how to hit in the right spots with my feet. Teaching myself just how to get back from this injury will help me out in the long run,” Patrick Mahomes told Nate Taylor on

This was his first year as a starter and he has already seen massive success on the field. However, there’s plenty of room for improvement.

Only time will tell.
