Patrick Mahomes Hilariously Relates to NY Giants QB Daniel Jones After Tripping on Huge Run

New York Giants Quarterback Daniel Jones had an unfortunate trip and fall that has social media in a frenzy.

The Giants were taking on the Philadelphia Eagles in a Thursday Night Football matchup between two teams with losing records. During the third quarter with the Giants down by three, Jones ran a perfectly executed quarterback keeper. The play went for 80 yards but it’s how Jones went down that has brought out the social media critics.

Though Jones ripped off an impressive run, he tripped over his own two feet in what should have been an easy scamper into the endzone. With no Eagle defensive player within 10 yards of him the only person who could bring Daniel Jones down was Daniel Jones.

Game commentators Joe Buck and Troy Aikman could not believe what they had seen as Jones was eventually ruled down at the 8-yard line.

“Absolutely all alone and he trips going into the end zone,” Buck said. “A walk-in touchdown and he trips himself.”

The Giants would eventually score on the drive with tailback Wayne Gallman scoring on a 1-yard run. The Giants took a 14-10 lead with Gallman’s score but would ultimately fall to the Eagles by a final score of 22-21.

Mahomes Responds to Jones’ Fall

Reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes was among the many football players to comment on the play. As a fellow quarterback, Mahomes sympathized with Jones’ tumble before reaching the goal line.

“I mean I can’t even say anything cause I would never be able to run that far either,” Mahomes Tweets. He followed the Tweet with four laughing emojis.

Mahomes has been one of the better rushing quarterbacks in his four-year career, averaging 4.6 yards per run. He has also accumulated six rushing touchdowns over that span.

Mahomes wasn’t the only NFL star to tweet about the play:
