Patrick Mahomes’ Mom Drops Adorable Throwback of NFL Superstar Son Following Birth of His Daughter

by Charles Craighill

On Saturday, NFL superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes became a father. His fiancee, Brittany Matthews, announced the birth of their first daughter together Sterling Skye Mahomes on Instagram yesterday afternoon. This of course means that Randi Mahomes, Patrick’s mother, became a grandmother. For her, that feeling of becoming a parent that Patrick has now feels all too familiar. She posted an adorable throwback picture of her son after the birth of his daughter on Instagram late last night.

“And to think i feel like this was just the other day!” she wrote in the Instagram post. “Now Patrick is a dad!!”

The picture features a very young Patrick Mahomes bottle feeding his younger brother, Jackson. The picture looks to have been taken just a few days after Jackson’s birth. Good thing Patrick has some practice now that he has a child of his own.

In fact, Patrick Mahomes already looks forward to improving on his parenting skills– even though he has only been one for a day. After his Super Bowl loss to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Mahomes shifted his focus from football to fatherhood. “It’s gonna be something special,” he said about his fiancees pregnancy after the game. “I’m excited for the journey of trying to find ways to better myself and become the best dad that I can be.”

“I’ve got to work on becoming a better dad even though I haven’t become one yet,” he added.

The World Congratulates Patrick Mahomes

As expected, congratulations and well wishes have poured in from around the country for Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews. Friends, teammates, and fans alike have all chimed in to congratulate the engaged couple on their first child. For instance, Travis Kelce, a teammate of Patrick Mahomes, did not hesitate to send a message to the quarterback and his wife.

“Congrats Mom!!!” Kelce wrote to Brittany Matthews on Twitter. “Cant wait to meet Sterling!!”

The deadly quarterback and tight end duo undoubtedly exchanged some texts after the birth of Sterling Skye. After all, Travis Kelce did catch 11 touchdowns from Patrick Mahomes over the course of the season. This led to Kelce having the most productive season of any tight end in NFL history.
