A brand new grandmother, Patrick Mahomes’ mother, Randi Mahomes, is soaking up the experience as best she can.
Patrick Mahomes and his bride to be, Brittany Matthews, welcomed their first child, a baby girl, into the word a week ago today (Saturday). Extremely happy to be new parents, Patrick and Brittany have expressed their excitement on social media several times since little Sterling Skye arrived. Likewise, Randi is also in a state of elation over the birth of her granddaughter. The baby girl came into the world weighing six pounds and 11 ounces.
Randi often uses social media to tout her son’s strong faith as well as interact with Kansas City Chiefs fans. She also uses her platform as the star quarterback’s mother to share notes of positivity and the occasional Bible verse. She also shares the news of her granddaughter’s arrival in a recent post congratulating Patrick Mahomes on becoming a dad.
Friday evening, however, was a night of relaxation for Randi and family. She took to Instagram to share a photo of family game night with her social media followers.
“Game night,” she proclaims in the post’s caption space. She doesn’t share what games the family is playing but judging by the smile on her face, they seem to be having a good time. The “game night” Instagram post took in more than 2,500 “likes” in a short amount of time.
While it is clear that Randi is a happy grandmother, don’t expect to see her share photos of Sterling Skye Mahomes until a later date. Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews made the decision earlier this week to hold off on sharing newborn baby photos. They still plan on sharing photos with the world but at the appropriate time. Matthews explains the reasoning behind the move in a recent Instagram story update.
“Today was Sterling’s actual due date, sure glad she came a few days early,” she says. “We will share photos of her when we feel the time is right. I know the Internet will instantly take the photos of her and share everywhere so just preparing myself for my newborn baby girl to be shared to the world. Right now we are just soaking in every minute with her.”
Patrick Mahomes is currently in his offseason routine as he adjusts to being a father. He will soon start preparing for another Super Bowl run with the Chiefs in 2021 NFL season.
