Patrick Mahomes Scolds Brother After Viral Video of Him Throwing Water at Ravens Fan

During Wednesday’s media session, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes addressed his brother pouring water on a Baltimore Ravens fan after his team’s loss.

Following Kansas City’s close loss to Baltimore on Sunday night, Mahomes’ brother, Jackson Mahomes, was involved in a post-game argument with heckling Ravens fans. The Chiefs traveled to M&T Bank Stadium over the weekend in a highly-anticipated Week 2 matchup. The Ravens edged out the Chiefs in a closely contested game that saw Baltimore take home the W with a 36-35 victory. Each team is now 1-1 on the season following Sunday’s game.

However, as the game ended and fans headed home, a couple of Ravens fans stuck around to rib Mahomes’ brother. One of the heckling fans captured a portion of their interaction with Jackson Mahomes. You can hear the fans booing Jackson and repeatedly saying, “I’m so sorry for ya.”

In the short clip, you can see Jackson in a white t-shirt and black hat. He’s obviously frustrated with the two fans who are yelling about Kansas City’s loss. Patrick Mahomes’ brother is then seen grabbing a large bottle of water. He proceeds to take the cap off the bottle and dump the water all over the heckling fans. Amusingly, the fan with the camera takes it in stride. He even seems happy about it as he screams, “Let’s go!!!,” numerous times. A win against the usually dominant Chiefs will do that to you we suppose.

Patrick Mahomes Says He Addressed the Incident With His Brother

While speaking with reporters earlier today in Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes addressed the incident involving his brother.

Jackson added fuel to the fire during the early hours of Monday morning following the loss. He retweeted a video of the incident while adding the caption, “They were thirsty.”

Jackson’s brother didn’t seem too pleased about the situation while speaking with the media on Wednesday. A reporter asked Patrick Mahomes about the incident, and Kansas City reporter Rob Collins relayed the Super Bowl champion’s response. Mahomes also added that the rowdy Ravens fans had some other choice words for his brother and his fiancee Brittany Matthews.

“Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes says he told his brother Jackson there are some things we don’t want to do regarding throwing water on Baltimore fans. Mahomes says there were things said to him and Brittany not seen on the video. #ChiefsKingdom,” Collins tweeted earlier today.

While the video didn’t capture any other interactions between the fans, it wouldn’t be shocking if they heckled Mahomes’ family further. When football and alcohol is mixed, it’s bound to happen. Yet it sounds like the quarterback has given his brother a cease and desist order on further fan altercations. It’s likely for the best since not everyone will be as joyous to have water dumped on them as this Ravens fan.
