Pittsburgh Steelers Star TJ Watt Drops $100K on Engagement Diamond for Fiancee Dani Rhodes

A diamond ring has been a declaration of true love for centuries. It seems like Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker TJ Watt knows that as well.

The NFL superstar recently asked his longtime girlfriend Dani Rhodes to be his wife. And just like marriage is forever, Watt clearly knows that diamonds are forever, too. He popped the question at a gorgeous waterfront spot last week. And, of course, Rhodes said yes.

And how could she not? In total, the diamond ring Watt proposed with is worth approximately $100,000. It contains 18k white gold and a 1.33 VVS perfect diamond in the band. Not only that, but the ring also contains an extremely rare 2.5 carat perfectly colorless triple EX grade diamond. The 26-year-old Watt purchased the incredible engagement ring from celebrity jeweler Moe Diamonds.

“YES, YES, YES,” Rhodes posted on Instagram after saying “yes” to Watt’s big question.

“It still feels like I’m dreaming,” she wrote the next day. “I woke up feeling so happy and blessed today that I was able to marry my best friend,” she said. “I can’t wait to love you forever.”

The Pittsburgh Steelers star has been dating Rhodes since 2016. They originally met while they were both attending the University of Wisconsin.

But let us remember that TJ Watt isn’t the only professional footballer in the relationship. American football, sure, but his fiancee is a star soccer player in her own right. She recently signed with the Icelandic football team Prottle Ray Gange. Rhodes is actually the former teammate of JJ Watt’s wife, Kealia. The two played soccer together for the Chicago Red Stars women’s team.

T.J. Watt Announces Engagement to Dani Rhodes

We all know that the life of a star NFL player is quite different from the everyday person. Of course, they are more physically gifted and have more money, but they do still reach for some of life’s milestones. And one of those is getting married. Watt is planning to do just that after he got engaged to Dani Rhodes. He took to his official Twitter account to announce the good news to his fans.

“I am the luckiest man in the world!!! @danirhodes04” Watt wrote alongside a couple of engagement photos.

However, on the football field, TJ Watt could experience another major change. He is currently set to play under the fifth-year option on his rookie contract. That is scheduled to pay him a little more than $10 million for the season. But make no mistake about it, he is looking to sign a massive extension with the Steelers this offseason. A new deal for the caliber of player that Watt is could see him become one of the richest defensive players in NFL history.
