On Tuesday, celebrity Rob Kardashian bought a case of NFL football cards and basically hit the lottery with an extremely rare card of quarterback Tom Brady worth upwards of $250,000.

Supposedly, Kardashian is a huge sports card collector who often buys rare boxes of cards from the Los Angeles-based card shop The Bullpen. In the early hours of Tuesday morning, he purchased 20 boxes of 2020 Panini Mosaic Choice football cards. It is not known what Kardashian paid for the cards. However, a case of 20 boxes of rare Panini cards typically costs around $10,000. Not including all the rest of the cards in the boxes, the celebrity earned $240,000 off the Tom Brady card alone.

Kardashian did not open the packs himself. Rather, he gave the go-ahead to the guys at Bullpen to open the cards for him. In addition, he allowed Bullpen to stream the card openings on Instagram Live. The case of cards did not disappoint.

Kardashian Hits the Jackpot With Rare Football Cards

The boxes included two Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa rookie autographed cards, a rare San Diego Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert rookie card, and two rare Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow rookie cards. Yet, the highlight was a Tom Brady MVP Nebula parallel card from the quarterbacks time with the New England Patriots – an insanely rare 1-of-1 card worth a quarter of a million dollars.

In the live video of the unveiling of the football cards, an employee at Bullpen named Ben freaks out as he sees the edge of the rare card. He already knew it was a 1-of-1 MVP Nebula card after barely seeing it. He takes his time covering up the top of the card with another card. As he slowly pulls the other card down, Tom Brady’s Patriots helmet is revealed and Ben loses his mind. He repeatedly screams “Oh my god!” as he quickly transfers the rare card into a protective case. Additionally, Ben says multiple times, “That’s one of the biggest cards I’ve ever pulled in my life!”

Collectible card expert PSA is an authentication company that says the Brady card can be worth between $50,000 and $250,000 according to its condition. But, since the rare card went straight from the opened pack and into a protective case, it is expected to receive a perfect rating of 10. Therefore the card should max out at $250,000.

Furthermore, the Herbert rookie card is a Black Gold parallel that’s one of eight in existence. PSA says it is worth around $6,000. Plus, Kardashian has two Tagovailoa rookie autographed cards which could sell for $5,000 each. Additionally, the two Burrow rookie Fusion red cards are worth around $3,000 each.

Although Kardashian’s plans for the rare cards are unclear, his football card investment definitely paid off big time.
