The Seattle Seahawks combination of Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf has proven to be virtually unstoppable as they extend their season to 8 and 3.

On Monday night, the Seahawks defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 23-17. DK Metcalf had a big game that sent him into the history books once again.

After Seattle’s win on Monday, the Seahawks posted a tweet on Metcalf’s latest achievement. DK is now the fastest player in the franchise’s history to reach 1,000 receiving yards in a season, and he did this in only 11 games.

As for the whole game, Metcalf caught ten passes for 177 yards against the Eagles and ended their far fetched dreams of a championship this year.

Metcalf Has a Chip on His Shoulder

The 22-year-old freak of nature had a little extra fire under his pants in this matchup, however. In 2019, Metcalf was slated to be drafted in the early to middle of the first round. The call didn’t come until the second round, though, when he was selected by the Seahawks 64th overall. One of the teams that were in the market for a wide receiver and passed on Metcalf was the Eagles. Who got the last laugh now?

In addition, DK admits that prior to the game, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz gave him the reminder that he “wasn’t there yet” when comparing Metcalf to Calvin Johnson, who boasts the nickname “Megatron.”

“”In my mind, I’m not trying to be Megatron, I’m trying to be me, so I had a little chip on my shoulder the whole game,” said Metcalf in a post-game interview

Russell Wilson Responds

DK Metcalf went toe-to-toe with Darius Slay, the Eagles corner, who allowed a completion percentage of 72.7 for the night.

“They got to try to do something,” Wilson said about the Eagles’ defense on Metcalf. “Can’t get in his head. It’s hard to cover him. In my opinion, he’s unmatchable.”
